There's a place for all children at St Bart's. We have the most wonderful, caring teachers and helpers who give so joyfully of themselves to the children of St Bart's. Our hope is that each child who comes through the doors of the church has fun, feels welcome, and grows closer to Christ and each other.
Nursery: Our nursery is able to care for infants up to 5 years old from 10:45 - 11:25 AM. Other hours of operation are 9- 10:15 AM and 11:15 - 12:45 PM for children infants to 5 years. Children's Sunday school, "Kids for Christ": includes lessons that are both heart-centered and experiential. Stories and activities engage children's bodies, feelings, and minds. Giving children experiences that are real and meaningful will help them integrate and apply the ideals to their lives right now. Experiential learning also helps to create a solid foundation for a child's lifelong spiritual journey. Held Sundays 10:15AM-11:15AM, September-May.
"Exploring God" Children's Ministry: A class where children explore Bible adventures through stories, craft and games; we often take the kids outdoors, bringing God's creation front and center. Held Wednesday 6:15PM - 7:15PM, September - May.
Lent for EveryoneLent for Everyone is a special intergenerational event the children participate in activities, crafts and games that help them understand what Lent is about in an age appropriate setting. Making pretzels for Lent is a special time before the Ash Wednesday service. The children & adults have a great time rolling the dough and sharing the pretzels with the congregation after the service. During Holy Week children also participate in the Seder Dinner this is a wonderful intergenerational event. During Pentecost Sunday the children learn about Pentecost and lead the Pentecost parade with streamers from the Fig tree outside into the sanctuary. Special games, prizes, and food are offered to our children at our annual Pumpkin Fest. Fun and fellowship for the entire family is had on this wonderful day. Each year the children have their own program at our annual parish retreat held at Kanuga where they do crafts, games, hike and explore. The children join in on our fun family night and free time on Saturday at the retreat. Children also have a chance to join in our Advent Quiet Day where they learn what Advent is about waiting and preparing. Home for the Holidays is also and intergenerational event where all ages participate in a dinner theater with song, fun, and fellowship. These extra times together bring a real sense of church family to our children as we continue to shepherd them outside of the normal Sunday school setting.
