Youth Ministry

Middle and High school Youth Sunday school: Classes for the middle school and high school students are different from your usual teen curriculum. Instead of providing youth with answers that “come from the Bible,” these resources meet the students where they are – grappling eagerly and passionately with growing up, becoming who they are. In this setting the student is the curriculum, not the written study guide.

TeenText, the curriculum used helps youth connect the text with their lives by helping them get out of their heads and into their hearts. The format encourages their ownership and continued exploration and application beyond the classroom. Meeting them where they are lowers barriers and invites connections. “Between Sundays” questions help keep students connected to the text during the week.

Each weekly lesson includes links to optional supplemental materials to support the week’s text using movie clips, YouTube videos, classical and contemporary art, music and poetry. Another part of the class is a fellowship time where they play icebreaker games and discover more about each other. Of course the class would not be perfect without some goodies and we have that as well. Sunday school for middle ah school youth is held at 10:15-11:15AM. September – May.

Living our Faith: This is a six-week class for pre-teens and teens that are not old enough to be confirmed but are ready to learn more about their faith. This event class takes place once a year.

St. Bart’s also assist youth as they begin their journey toward Confirmation with classes just for them. Check out our calendar to see when these classes are held.
